Below is a list of some of the facilities available to students. As with any
school that runs a wide array of extra-curricular activities, resources and
facilities are rarely out of use. Take for example our indoor gym hall - as
well as hosting P.E., training sessions and matches, it is home to the hive of activity
that surrounds the annual Transition Year Musical Production.
Some of the facilities listed below have red information boxes (see right) associated with
them – you can use these to find out more about that part of the school.

Our indoor sports gym has competition sized courts for Soccer, Hockey, Hurling, Basketball,
Badminton and Gymnastics. It also has an overhead viewing area which
accomodates table-tennis tables and a Universal weights machine.

The school has four high-quality playing pitches which are used for
Hurling, Football, Soccer, Camogie, Ladies Football and Rugby.

Our outdoor tarmac courts are available for Basketball, Volleyball and
Tennis.

|
We are consious of the weight of schoolbags so each student has access
to a locker where they can keep books, coats etc.

|
A selection of sandwiches, hot food, fruit, hot & cold drinks are available
each day from the school cafeteria.

The bus bay on campus allows our students to get on and off the buses
without having to deal with the hazards of traffic.

One of the most unique features of our campus is our prayer &
meditation room which is open at all times to students & staff.
|

First-year students can find secondary school very different to their primary
school. It can take time to adjust to these changes. Our
separate first-year campus gives our youngest students the time to settle in
and form friendships with their peers before being integrated
into the larger school.

All five of our science labs are fully equipped for Physics, Chemistry,
Biology and Agricultural Science.

Each of our Home Economics rooms has 10 fully equipped units with both gas and electrical facilities.

Two state-of-the-art woodwork/construction rooms with a full range of equipment
and machinery including a computerised router.
|
|
|
Junior and senior engineering rooms equipped with the most up-to-date manual
and computerised lathes, milling machines and drilling machines. These rooms
are fully stocked with all modern engineering and workshop materials and
equipment.

There are over 60 computers available to students for projects &
computer classes. Each of our IT labs is Internet connected and equipped with laser printers and an
overhead projector.

Concepts of structural design incorporating both plane and solid geometry are
taught using drawing equipment, models, overheads and computers equipped with
printer and plotter.

|
In these specalised classrooms the teacher provides academic
support on a one-to-one or small group basis to students who may be
experiencing difficulty in the short-term.

|
Our careers service includes a guidance counsellors room and a careers
library complete with Internet access.
|
|
|
We have a well equipped and well resourced library with an
up-to-date stock of over 3,000 reading and reference books. Our library also
has Internet access.
Students can use the library for recreational reading and school projects.

Our tiered-seating lecture theatre is ideal for video presentions and
is frequently used by visting speakers to give presentations to students.
|
|
|
Our music room is equipped with a large collection of instruments
including piano, keyboards, guitars (acoustic & electric), bass,
violins, cello, flutes, clarinets as well as a rock drum kit and numerous
percussion instruments.
Several music technology packages are available on a dedicated computer and
the room is also equipped with a state-of-the-art stereo system and an extensive CD
collection.

The spacious Art-Room is fully equipped to offer students a wide range of Art,
Craft & Design experiences. These include: drawing, printmaking, painting,
model-making, graphic-design, photography, clay-modelling and pottery. A
dedicated library and video facility enhance the study of Art History and
Appreciation.
